Dr. Michael Loeb, a native of New Orleans, attended the University of Texas at Austin where he earned a B.A. in zoology. He then attended medical school at the Louisiana Health Sciences Center at New Orleans, where he was awarded the Seese-Voors scholarship for academic achievement. In addition, he was elected as a member to Alpha Omega Alpha National Medical Honor Society, a recognition given to those students graduating at the very top of their class. He completed his orthopaedic residency program at the University of Tennessee-Campbell Clinic in Memphis, Tennessee where he developed a special interest in the shoulder and elbow. As a result, he pursued additional training in shoulder, elbow, and sports related injuries under the auspices of several recognized world authorities. This training took him around the world, including Zurich, Switzerland; Pretoria, Republic of South Africa; and The Mayo Clinic in Rochester, Minnesota.
Dr. Loeb has co-authored several scientific articles for peer reviewed publications including The Journal of Shoulder and Elbow Surgery. In addition he has lectured on sports related injuries of the shoulder and served as an instructor at international courses on shoulder surgery.
An avid sports fan, Dr. Loeb also donates his time to local high schools and colleges, and is the official team physician to Westwood High School, Concordia College, and the Central Texas Wolfpack.
Dr. Loeb is certified by the American Board of Orthopaedic Surgery and is a diplomate of the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgery.
